Project Description
Working with the renowned urban planning firm CIVITAS of Denver, Co., GSG Architecture embarked on an exhaustive survey of the central business / government district of Cheyenne. The process involved cataloguing existing assets and balancing those elements with the desire to provide potential avenues of growth and where possible consolidation of government services and facilities. The result was a strategic vision to guide capital investment decisions within and around the State Capitol District up to 2020 and beyond.
Principal goals for the study included, insure public confidence, in the process, establish strong and safe connections to and from residential, business and governmental buildings, improve security and safety through policies and design, balance the needs of open space and parking and preserve the historic character of the district and integrate the plan with other governmental and business agencies.
