The new Maintenance and Shop building in Sundance, Wyoming was Phase II of the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s updated campus. The building includes 10 vehicle bays. Three of the ten bays are used to do mechanical work on large highway maintenance vehicles. This area includes a wash bay, a vehicle lift, and a high-capacity truck lift. The other seven bays are used to store and maintain heavy WYDOT equipment. This portion of the building was designed to be open with no columns, so as not to obstruct the movement of the large machinery. A mezzanine level separates the maintenance and shop portions to provide storage accessible to each side. The building also includes multiple offices, restrooms, and a staff breakroom.
